Abdi Nor Iftin, who survived a malnourished childhood in Somalia, fled terrorists, and spent years as a refugee in Kenya, chronicled his journey from Mogadishu to Maine in the 2018 memoir “Call Me American.” Now a political science major in the Boston College – Woods College of Advancing Studies, Iftin became a U.S. citizen on Friday.
